Religious Education

Through Geography we aim to encourage children to take a keen interest in the world around them, inspiring them to be good world citizens. Children learn practical skills such as orienteering, map-reading and investigation. Through following the National Curriculum they also learn about the world around them, including physical and human geography.

History helps us to understand the present by knowing where we've come from. Pupils at Hullavington learn about British history from the Stone Age right through to modern day, including Saxons, Vikings and Romans. We also learn about ancient cultures such as the Mayans and Egyptians. Through history, children learn to be inquisitive, reflective individuals. Through role-play and a range of creative activities we aim to build children's confidence as they understand more about the past.

Personal, Social and Health Education

Personal, Social and Health Education (PSHE) is concerned with the personal development of children. It equips children with the skills and attitudes needed to lead a confident, healthy and responsible life. PSHE is a subject with non-statutory guidelines. We firmly believe PSHE is taught by example, in the way that we speak, behave and respond to others. The school timetables a weekly PSHE lesson, often taught through Circle time addressing specific needs of the class as well as following the Wiltshire ‘Learn4Life’ scheme. Hullavington Primary has achieved the Wiltshire Healthy Schools Bronze Award.
