School Lunches
Your child has the option of bringing a packed lunch or having a hot school dinner.
We have a new supplier for our School dinners called Caterlink and all meals are freshly cooked on site every day. Meals cost £2.50 each. If your child is in Reception or Key Stage 1 then the meals are free under the government Universal Infant Free School Meals initiative (UIFSM). Please see further details below.
All meals need to be pre-ordered by the Thursday of the week before using our online system, Parentpay. You will be given an activation code when you first join the school. The current menu can be found below.
If you are in receipt of certain benefits your children may be entitiled to free school meals. For further details, please see the Wiltshire Council website. If you would like to apply for free school meals the application form can be found from the above link or paper copies are available from the school office.
Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM)
You may be aware from the news and media that with effect from 1 September 2014, all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 will be entitled to a free hot school meal.
This follows a recommendation in the School Food Plan, an independent review published in July 2013, which aims to ring about a significant increase in the numbers of children eating good food in schools. The aim is to improve academic attainment and to save families money – an average family spends £400 on school lunches per year for each child.
This initiative does not apply to the KS2 children (years 3, 4, 5 & 6). Hot meals will continue to be available to buy for children in these year groups; they currently cost £2.34 per meal. Meals will also still be available for children in these year groups who are entitled to Free School Meals.
If you want your child to have a hot meal, you will still need to pre-order them by the Thursday of the week before even if the meals are free for your child. Please contact the school office if you have any queries.
