Week commencing 6th November and upcoming events

Some of our school clubs started this week - Open the Book, Football, Playgroup and Gardening.  The remaining clubs will start this coming week now parents evenings are over.  We hope you found parents evening useful and informative, and heard lots of lovely things about your children!

We had our HSA dress down day on Thursday in return for donations for the upcoming Christmas market.  Thank you for all the wine and chocolate you brought in - it all tasted lovely, but we're a bit full now!!  Joking aside, thank you for all your contributions, it goes a long way to ensure the event is a success and the HSA raise lots of money on the day.

Upcoming events

We have a busy week coming up next week - starting with Monday when we have the Science Explorer Dome in school all day.  I'm sure the kids will get a lot from this experience and come home to tell you all about it.

School photos are being taken on Tuesday.  Please ensure the children are in clean uniform and they have sorted out their bed heads!!

Handball and Netball clubs start on Wednesday.  If your child is in Year 5/6 please have a look at the School Ping regarding our upcoming netball festival.  We're looking for a team to take to the festival on Wednesday 22nd November.

Our Open Morning for prospective parents is on Thursday at 10am.  Please come along and visit the class and see what happens here in Hullavington School.  We look forward to seeing you.

Friday is Children in Need day - the theme this year is Spotacular.  The children are invited to come to school wearing something spotty (no school uniform).  In return we are looking for a £1 donation which can be brought to the school office on Friday morning.

Finally the Christmas Market is on Saturday between 11am and 2pm.  There will be Santa's Grotto, the popular wine and water stall, a chocolate tombola plus plenty of other stalls.  The WI will be providing tea, coffee, cakes and snacks.  Don't forget your children will also be able to post their Christmas letters to Santa in our post box.  The post box will be brought to school from Monday 20th November and the last posting date will be Friday 8th December.  Santa is extremely busy after this date, so please post early to ensure a reply.  We look forward to seeing you all at the Market and beginning the countdown to Christmas!!

We look forward to the coming terms and will post news every week to keep you updated.

PLAYPOD

As you will have seen we now have a Playpod on the playground.  This has been funded by a National Lottery grant.  The Scrapstore Playpod is a holistic process that works with the entire school community to transform play at lunchtimes.  It encourages creativity, enables children to use their imagination and self risk assess as they play.  All our staff have been trained by Playpod staff and oversee the play at lunchtime.
