News this week - week commencing 4th September 2017

Firstly welcome back to the new school year, we hope all the children have settled well this week.  We welcome our new reception children this week who are currently doing mornings only.  From next week they will be staying for lunch and finally by week 4 they will be full time.  Whilst mentioning Owlets class we welcome back Miss Pearce as Mrs O'Callaghan and congratulate her on her summer wedding - she looked beautiful and enjoyed an amazing day.

We also welcome new staff this term - Mr Sam Jones as the Hawks class teacher, Mrs Nadine Eaton as the Owlets teaching assistant, Ms Hannah Smith as Owlets teaching assistant and finally Mrs Claire Magill as our Numbers Count Teacher.  I'm sure you will all make them feel very welcome when you see them around school in the coming weeks.

Our school clubs will start next week, information about all these has been sent home this week. Our Library and Wake and Shake clubs started on Monday, they now start at 8am with last entrance at 8.30am.

Finally we are holding a Meet the Teachers meeting on Wednesday 20th September at 6pm, so please come along and meet the staff.

We look forward to the coming terms and will post news every week to keep you updated.

As you will have seen we now have a Playpod on the playground.  This has been funded by a National Lottery grant.  The Scrapstore Playpod is a holistic process that works with the entire school community to transform play at lunchtimes.  It encourages creativity, enables children to use their imagination and self risk assess as they play.  All our staff have been trained by Playpod staff and oversee the play at lunchtime.

We send home a weekly newsletter each Friday in term time to keep you up to date with school events.
