Ofsted Report

Dear Parents and Carers,

As you know, on the 27th April 2017 we had our Ofsted inspection.  It is with pleasure that we are able to share our Ofsted Report which you will find here.

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the whole school community (pupils, staff, Governors and parents) for the hard-work, dedication and commitment put in on a day-to-day basis with the children being at the very heart of everything we do.  Everyone works so hard and this report is testament to that work ethic and `the strong sense of teamwork, clear purpose and determination’ that we share. I must also commend the staff for the way they have implemented the new curriculum so that teaching and learning remains vibrant and exciting; for their relentless enthusiasm to engage pupils so that the new higher expectations for year groups have been executed in a smooth and seamless way.

The children, as always were a credit to the school and to their families. The inspector told us how much he enjoyed his conversations with the `polite and welcoming’ children.  He also noted that parents are `tremendously supportive of the school.’  He stated that parents `were effusive about the quality of education their children were receiving’ and 'how the caring environment helps children to develop their confidence.’  Thank you for your unwavering and ongoing support which we wholeheartedly appreciate.

Finally, I would just like to say that Hullavington is a great school and I am very proud and privileged to be part of such a wonderful team and community.

Kind Regards

Sue Tudge

News this week - week commencing 22nd May 2017

We hope you all came along to the HSA Spring Fete at the weekend.  The weather held off until just before the end so we were very lucky.  The HSA did a fantastic job of the fete and everyone had a great time.  Thank you to everyone who helped out on the day or helped with the preparation in the run up to the event.  They raised a massive £1544 on the day, with more proceeds to come from the ice cream sale.

Owlets and Barn Owls had a water fight this week, I think the teachers had more fun that the children!!

Snowy Owls held their Roman Day on Friday - the children and staff all came dressed in Roman attire and carried out a series of Roman duties throughout the morning.  In the afternoon they had a Roman feast in the hall and the parents of Snowy Owls class came along to join in with the feast.  Thank you to all the parents who designed some fantastic costumes and sent in food for the day.

Finally, we hope you have a lovely half term break and we will see you back here on Monday 5th June.

As you will have seen we now have a Playpod on the playground.  This has been funded by a National Lottery grant.  The Scrapstore Playpod is a holistic process that works with the entire school community to transform play at lunchtimes.  It encourages creativity, enables children to use their imagination and self risk assess as they play.  All our staff have been trained by Playpod staff and oversee the play at lunchtime.

We send home a weekly newsletter each Friday in term time to keep you up to date with school events.
